  1. Pre-fabricated walls built off site and shipped/slotted into place?

Ugly, but what do they care

  2. It’s a bit of a myth that windows were bricked up due to window tax. There’s likely nothing where those windows would be to benefit; a cupboard or bathroom, say.

Instead, it just makes the wall look a little less drab. Imagine the entire thing as an uninterrupted brick sheet and those little touches make it a lot more attractive: https://www.glasgowworld.com/retro/what-is-behind-glasgows-bricked-up-tenement-windows-3910529#:~:text=In%20actuality%2C%20the%20bricked%20up,maintain%20the%20buildings'%20symmetrical%20facades.

  3. I don’t know the site context, but is this a temporary measure to improve appearances, until the site next door is developed?

  4. Perhaps the windows peek into another building next door? But in fairness, if I were on a lower floor, I could see into the next tower and they into mine. So it’s odd these are blocked up.

  5. AS in the prince of Orange?

Does this building look like it’s from the 17th century to you

  6. They’re blind windows? You get them in modern developments, you get them in [Georgian development](https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4919791,-0.1547461,3a,33.3y,5.75h,99.91t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sMYbxKcfBACW6KZ8nvL-DVw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DMYbxKcfBACW6KZ8nvL-DVw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D55.052753%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu), you get them everywhere. It creates articulation and interest in an otherwise blank facade but there were never going to be windows there.

  7. It’s bollox, could’ve just had a brickwork relief or wrap around balcony , I hate fake blocked up windows, an excuse for design, how about a green living wall?? Lazy design reeks of the UK shitsow housing crisis and hollow commercial developments

  8. I like the narrow side windows too, created for longbow archers
