Excellent tactical analysis of Allegri’s Juve in 2024

  1. Some things that stood out to me

    * McKennie might be a tailor-made Al-Legri midfielder
    * Kostic and Chiesa are also important tactically
    * The team has always been good at the defensive part of Allegri’s system but is only recently starting to master the attacking movements
    * Fullbacks and wingers are crucial to this tactical approach – they are almost solely responsible for starting the attack. Kostic is clever and tactically savvy but less able to beat his man. Illing is perhaps the opposite, Cambiaso is maybe a mix of both, Weah has pace but is still tactically a bit lost (unless McKennie is there to guide him). I still think we just need more quality on the wings. If we had a fullback at the level of Gio DiLorenzo or Dumfries, we’d likely feel their impact more than any other signing.
