From reporter Mitchell Prothero:
Hamas fighters struck the Israeli army as it set explosive charges to demolish two homes along the Gaza-Israel border, causing the devices to prematurely explode, killing at least 21 soldiers in Israel’s deadliest day of fighting since the Oct. 7 attacks.
Three IDF soldiers were killed in another incident bringing the total military losses to 24 in a single day, which will likely increase pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to find a diplomatic solution to the ongoing siege of Gaza, which has killed more than 25,000 Palestinians, including at least 195 on Monday, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
The Israel prime minister is facing increased criticism, both domestic and foreign, for his handling of the war.

Contrary to popular belief on Reddit.
The majority of Israel is pressuring the government to not stop until Hamas is defeated for good.
It’s not “Bibi prolonging the war to stay in power”
I mean, Hamas killing IDF soldiers is just proof Hamas needs to go.
And the war against Hamas is very popular in Israel, despite Bibi being massively unpopular.
More proof that Netanyahu is a lousy leader.
Bibi face domestic criticism for about 10 years now? I don’t understand why people think it’s anything special. The only difference is that now also his fanatics won’t vote to him.
On the contrary, he is using this event to make the point that Israel must continue or all that was lost was for nothing.
Urban warfare is so dangerous, a militant with an RPG could pop out of a tunnel from seemingly anywhere.
This shows how naive the “use special forces not Air Force bombs” crowd is.
Like am I missing something? Soldiers in a war got shot at and even die?
Back in 2014, Israel conducted a military operation inside Gaza. The IDF came to Netanyahu the Corrupt with a presentation on how they can defeat Hamas for the cost of 400 soldiers. They begged him to approve this.
So, he made the tough decision of LEAKING THE PRESENTATION TO THE MEDIA, thereby causing massive pressure to stop the war and not go through with it.
The fatass always liked to brag about how he can easily identify danger. Truth is, when faced with a tough decision, he never makes a tough call. Always takes the easy way out.
He isn’t a leader, or a ruler. He’s a maniac in a position of power, in charge of ten million Israelis.
How is the army meant to act professionally when he is their example?
He should have drowned when he was caught in a ditch in the war of attrition. His survival is the biggest tragedy of our nation.
Under pressure?? Why? Soldiers are working in a hostile area to kill terrorists? They die sometimes in the process.
Why aren’t they praying for a solution?
In Gaza homes?
There was 1.5 Km of underground tunnel which was used by Hamas. Same Hamas which its operatives launched RPG that triggered those explosives.
If it was “just a home”, they would bomb it with an airstrike.
Let’s see how Israel and its apologist make this antisemitic
Damn its almost like they don’t want to lose their homes or something.
That’s a weird headline because A has no connection to B. Yes, Bibi is under big pressure, but this has nothing to do with the 21 soldiers dying.
As an Israeli, I didn’t see any pressure towards Netanyahu for this incident, so sounds like a bullshit article made out lack of interesting stories?
Anyway, I (and Israelis in general) blame him for a lot of stuff but this one isn’t something he or anyone in the government is blamed for here in Israel, it’s war, they got shot by Hamas end of story, it’s war no one expected Netanyahu or anyone in the government to be able to go to war without casualties

He was already broadly disliked, is my understanding of the situation. But damn, he’s almost certainly hated now after October 7.
In homes? Good Lord, that requires a lot of explanation.
21 IDF military soldiers killed.
vs.
25,000 Palestinian civilians, mostly kids, MURDERED.
More like under pressure to stop throwing away IDF lives on civilian-sparing ground operations, and instead return to doing demolition operation from the Air.
Misleading bullshit headline
