Should get rid of all the line bikes and just increase the electric Santander bikes.
make it part of the day/weekly travelcard and i would use them all the time.
Desperately needs to be expanded beyond zone 2
Whoever removed the daily cap before shouldn’t have any decision powers imo. They removed it around 16 months ago and since then the amount of hires immediately dropped by about 30% and last years total hires dropped to the same as 2013. 11.6m hires 2022 and then 8m hires last year after the cap was removed. It had like 20 record breaking months in a row before that. Now conveniently they’ve stopped saying how they’re getting record hires and are specifically saying they’re getting record “e”bike hires, like yeah of course you are they’ve only been out for a year.
The day pass is a bit of a comprimise and should help again but it doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as it used to be. Before if you rented one you automatically got a days pass. But now it sounds like even if you rent one twice it will just go right past the £3 day pass option, increasing more and more the more you use it. Basically it wont stop at the £3 like the Tube or Buses do with their daily rate/cap. So you have to know from the start that you will use the bike multiple times and choose the £3 option otherwise you’ll be ripped off and pay more than the daily rate even if you use it for an hour.
That’s very optimistic of them. More will end up broken than ridden.
Can we get rid of all the electric scooters blocking all the pavements? And advertising boards, for that matter.
Good decision to go back to the day pass and getting more e-bikes.
Still, the convenience of parking (almost) anywhere with Lime and Forest may stop people switching back.
