They shouldn’t be shrinking, Greece has a lot of sunlight….were they not being watered?
This sub turned into a shitshow once obvious agenda pushing ultra-nationalist accounts like this one were allowed to continuously post here.
There’s probably an interesting discussion to be had about this story. But not when there are people so obviously acting in bad faith.
If you come from a country with a particularly useless middle aged leader who promises to “Make Sokovia Great Again” while simultaneously destroying your economy… then you need to go sort that shit out. Instead of coming here trying to convince the rest of the world that you aren’t a country of morons for electing them.
That’s some much needed concentration of capital and resources. if they invest it right^* , they can reap the rewards of automation handsomely, while their overcrowded neighbors scramble to feed their poor.
^* Not gonna happen in that economically illiterate country
> This comes as no surprise as the gap between deaths and births since 1998 has been widening. More specifically, 84,767 births and 130,669 deaths were recorded in 2021, despite expectations that the conditions created by the pandemic would lead to an increase in births. The fertility rate in Greece is at 1.38 births per woman, one of the lowest in the European Union.
Births in 2020(84.767) increased compared to 2019(83.763) and the registered births in [2021](https://www.ypes.gr/politikes-kai-draseis/statistika/statistika-2) was 86.390(its not the final number it should be ~1000 lower than that but still higher than 2020).So im not sure what she is talking about, births increased both years in the pandemic and the fertility rate should be around 1.40 which is actually a 10 year high.
