On a related note, I’m so embarrassed about Australia’s failure on sending helicopters to Ukraine. We had 45 perfectly good modern NH90s the Government was retiring early and scrapping because of perceived (but overblown) safety issues that we could have donated. But apparently it didn’t even occur to the government to do this until they’d already started stripping them down and they were beyond the point of repair. Fucking embarrassment. Such a big failure that it must have been deliberate by someone. I honestly wonder if there’s people in Australia’s defence department on the take from Russia.
