Because the U.S. army uses a LOT of foreign weapons and also exports a lot of weapons to other countries.
AT-4 is swedish and used by half the planet, AR-15 platforms have been exported to virtually every single country you can mention, the M249 is Belgian and used by half of the world again.
Well we left like $6 billion worth in Afghanistan…..millions of people from all over the world going to Mexico to pour into US. Pretty easy dots to connect.
U.S. demands investigation into Bolivian military grade marching powder and request samples for analysis.
It seems Mexico is very upset about illegal weapons being bought by the sale of illegal drugs. Stop the drugs to prevent the weapons.
A Smith and Wesson Pistol is military grade. Cartels having assault rifles is non news.
isn’t “military-grade” just some bullshit marketing lingo? What are these, remote operated hypersonic railgun rounds?
military grade? that means POS right?
bruh it’s probably from their own stock at this rate
I think we should also investigate the billions of dollars in drug money that fuel the cartel and make every drug legal so we can regulate them properly. Sure, the cartels will persist, they’re just going to go into legitimate businesses as we’re already seeing with weed. But then maybe they’ll stop murdering people for fun and we can attempt to address the core issues at play here which is rampant corruption on both sides.
Considering what was left in Afghanistan. Drug cartels being drug cartels, deals with the taliban for weapons. shouldn’t be out of the question. If you can smuggle drugs in, you can always get weapons out from anyplace . I’m sure those that have turned a blind eye have profited nicely, especially in Mexico as is common. Then throw a fit and sound the alarm when they know damn well how they got there. Kinda missed the red flags of M2 50 cals mounted to f250s for the last few years. Drone dropped munitions and mortars probably are soon to come if not already there. Investigation will conclude that due to corruption, the cocaine and fentanyl fairies have been most generous with the weapons. Talk about closing the barn door after the horse has left. A bit late, fellas.
With all the weapons left in Afghanistan when the U.S. fled the country you are going to see them poping up all over theworld.
Okay, in return stop letting people illegally enter the USA for “asylum” when international law dictates they must apply for asylum in the first country they reach. So that means everyone except people from Mexico cannot have valid asylum claims and should be forced to apply for asylum in Mexico.
This is because of Obama, Eric holder, and democrats. Same with biden and the democrats on the border and the influx of immigrants. They own this as well.
That’s about 40 years too late.
maybe if it doesnt want US weapons in its country they should build a wall.. >.> /s
Ill see myself out..
Fast and furious was literally the us government sending weapons over the border to “track” it to the cartels and then admitting they failed to track any of them.
Here is the issue with news outlets calling practically everything military grade or style. It obfuscates the term and renders it meaningless.
Reading the article, it’s not ARs and pistols. It’s heavier weaponry that the average citizen cannot get. Which, if they are seeing a bunch of extra weapons popping up of that level and it can’t just be getting bought at a typical gun store state side… I can see why they would be wondering where the weapons are coming from.
So really it’s going to be only a few sources though.
The US directly, which is pretty bad.
Someone the US is selling too, which means we should maybe not sell to them.
Or from Afghanistan since we left a lot behind and anything we equipped their army with is now in the hands of the Taliban.
I’m guessing option three but two wouldn’t surprise me. Then again, who’s to say it isn’t somehow option one.
Edit: okay it was pointed out that option three applies to many conflicts and weapons also go missing during them and not just when we leave…. Oof.
And no one’s getting fat except Mamma US Arms manufacturers.
How about mexico does something about the cartels, you know, in their own country before blaming others?
It’s been discussed. If you want, let america start drone striking cartels in mexico and maybe someone can do something to slow their takeover.
Eric Holder might know something
US would probably want to know why Mexico isn’t controlling the tide of immigrants coming to it’s southern border, but alas some things will remain unknown.
I’m sorry couldn’t they just look up the serial numbers?
I would think that serial numbers for so-called military grade equipment would be something that could be tracked.
“Oh, an M14 with serial number <serial number>? According to the system, it’s currently assigned to a private at Fort Smith… Oh, it’s being used by a cartel in Mexico? Well sounds like we’ve both got an issue to discuss with that private.”
title seems kinda click bait to stir up controversy.
one thing that is currently happening is mexico military is being out droned if mexico military doesn’t counter drones it will be game over for them.
CIA, is this you again you sly devils?…
I swear to God, if it was the Houthis you were funding this time…
While fast and furious was proven to be true, the president of Mexico is a jackass who spews rhetoric while being paid by cartels
Everyone is so triggered about realizing the USA supplies Mexican cartels military equipment in Mexico we’ve known this for years
There’s not one public official in Mexico who is not compromised.Including the military.
It’s really quite simple rich Americans like cocaine. Unfortunately everywhere south of here suffers because of it. They use the coke money to buy weapons.
I mean, its the same guns all americans have. Its easy as fuck to get an assault rifle in america and take it to Mexico
I mean it’s understandable because of the contra affair but at the same time are they forgetting how they had to arrest a whole police department for cartel ties? Also totally ignoring the fact that many of their politicians have backing of cartels
Just let a US corporation make the magic powder and tax it
Fast and Furious scandal should tell you all you need to know, and you’re naive if you think it’s not something still going on with the hopes that “we got it right this time”
End of thread.
Better 50 years late than never?
Valid
Wasn’t that an Obama CIA operation.
This seems like something they’d be better off performing than demanding.
Lots of straw buyers on US border selling to cartels. Lots of corruption in Mexico and collusion between police, military and cartels
Demand for drugs is a root cause of the problem.
CCP is sending precursor chemicals to weaken US
Border walls are ineffective for stopping flow of drugs
Some migrants smuggle drugs to U.S. as part of deal with Coyotes
Many things are true at the same time
Whatever support we give to another country for protecting their borders I expect the same for our own. Why do we not have other countries soldiers helping us when we help them? I certainly feel it’s very unfair we can help others but not let them help us. Clear as day we need help. Either use the points of entry and the systems in place to enter USA or don’t enter. I have a super hard time understanding why that is so difficult to comprehend. There are points of entry. It’s not about any drama to one’s life, it’s about procedure in place by federal law. That’s it. Don’t make it more than that.
Any one can buy them if they have money and contacts! Mexico should shut the hell up and stop all the immigrants at their southern border!
The usa sells the guns to legal entities in mexico. Its the corrupt officials who are buying the guns for the cartel.
See FAST and FURIOS USGOVT operation
Lol. I’ve got an idea. You control the illegal food flowing from your country or shut up about ours
We’ll stop sending them guns when they stop sending us drugs. Neither will happen as long as prohibition makes drugs more profitable than gold.
Mexico needs to get lost
I am 100% certain that the ATF is involved somehow…
THE WEAPONS CAME FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
too obscure?
Mexico has completely shown its incompetence. It’s time for the US to add another territory and get rid of the nuisance to the south. Plus it will fit in with the current atmosphere.
(Mostly joking, but I foresee US military boots on Mexican soil just because of how chaotic it’s becoming.)

So, what weapons would those be *specifically*?
