The money is less important than the fact that Russia is forced to spread their air defence systems around more. Hell, after Ukraine flew a drone over Putin’s palace near St. Petersburg, we saw a sudden movement of S300s to protect said palace.
Then you remember that Ukraine is scheduled to receive F-16s this year and, well, you can do the math.
Russian oil/gas facilities are proper military targets, because they directly enable Russia to buy weapons and military supplies from Iran, NK, and China. Outsourcing that military production puts it largely out of reach.
I hope Ukraine soon has the ability to cripple Russia’s main exports.
Russian oil is the main income for Russia.
Without the profits from oil, Russia will be forced to stop the war in a matter of months.
They still have some reserve funds, but without income, Russia is finished. The country may disintegrate.
Russia currently has a MASSIVE overflow of oil since all their normal customers are no longer buying. They will not run out of oil.
It’s not about the oil loss. It’s about the oil barons who own these things (and of course give tons of money to Putin), and now they’re having their plants targeted because of Putin’s war.

Good news! Keep those drones coming, Ukraine.
