  1. with that amount of money we can just build a giant outerspace AC to cool the planet

  2. Yeah sure let’s 50x the national debt. Why the hell not?

  3. What an idiot. First of all, Kerry said that we need to remove 1.6 trillion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. He didn’t say a cost or a timeline, just that a problem exists, so anything after that is just grandstanding. Secondly, current techniques for removing co2 are way cheaper than this fucktard’s made up numbers.

    >The cost of carbon capture and storage (CSS) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions varies by approach and technology. It is estimated that CCS costs ranged between 15 and 130 U.S. dollars per metric ton of carbon dioxide (tCO₂), while the costs for direct air CCS ranged between 100 and 345 U.S. dollars per tCO₂. In contrast, nature-based solutions such as afforestation and reforestation ranged between 45 and 240 U.S. dollars per tCO₂.
