Keep in mind that Russia too has fought insurgencies and probably has learned how to beat them. They defeated the Chechen guerrillas and cleared much of the Syrian territory from rebels.
Let’s hope that the Ukrainians will receive better training and weapons than the Syrian Kurds who got decimated by Turkey and their proxies.
Also, Russia will invade the eastern parts of Ukraine where a large percentage of the population is Russian. How well will a Ukrainian insurgency work there?
Russia is not going to invade the entire country. Based on their M.O. if they would invade it would be limited to areas with significant russian population.

I was looking at covid deaths in Russia and it’s rather steady with about 750 day over the last 7 days. Seems Putin should be more worried about that than what NATO is up to.
