give ice some money and get the ukraine aid funded. we can always defund ice later and print some work visas in the short-term.
do whatever you have to do to appease the maga babies. we can take away their pacifier later.
Would be a 4D chess rope a dope if Biden actually used the tools available to him with presidential draw down and seizure of the $300B of Russian assets.
Few things make sense about his current “my hands are tied” stance:
– it’s got the Europeans, especially the Germans, to step up big time recently
– they probably would prefer to give the $300B for reconstruction than war fighting, as it’s not realistic they’ll ever manage to get reparations out of Russia. And once you use these funds, that’s it. They’re gone. Sort of a last resort card to play, but one that would keep Ukraine fighting for years.
– the presidential “obsolete weapons” draw down is kind of a last resort if it looks like he might not win re election
– maybe he’s counting on using the Republicans’ following Russia’s marching orders as a political tool for this campaign.
Why aren’t Americans protesting against this?
Maybe a Ukraine big wig should not have stolen a part of the money set to Ukraine by the US?
Until there is 100% of accountability for funds anyone would be stupid to keep sending them money.
Problem is US isn’t really even that powerful and they could be dragged into a war with Iran if they aren’t careful. The US would be pretty stupid to send so much ammunition to Ukraine that when they need it themselves they are low on ammo
