Hi guys so I guess we all heard about the strike this week. For personal reasons I have to go back to Munich this weekend and this is the only more reasonable connection for me to take.
What does it mean when DB says this train is cancelled, but still allows me to buy the ticket?
If I don’t get to Munich by 21:13 (this is important) and have delays/ have to stay overnight, am I still entitled to compensation?
Also, do I have to somehow find a way to get myself to Mannheim to Munich if they say the train is cancelled ?
Thanks in advance.

You can take whatever train that is actually running with any ticket in this timeframe, since “Zugbindung” was voided.
If at all an option for you, rent a car instead. Even the trains that are driving, will be a complete mess and unreliable
It means it’s a normal day in Germany
Maybe try to look for a BlaBlaCar Ride
I would try to find a connection that isn’t cancelled and monitor it. You can take any train if you bought an long distance Ticket. However, the trains might be crowded or still cancelled last minute. About 80% of trains won’t go.
If you have any means to go there otherwise like rental car, ride share (Blabla car etc.), I would try that.
