Is this the plane that had all the Ukrainian prisoners who were being swapped but crashed first?
I see people going crazy in another thread, I don’t get why people are arguing about if the plane was filled with PoWs or not, can you all just wait for the findings of the Ukranian gov’t, if there were PoWs on the plane you’ll find out in a day or two with an announcement.

Now the finger pointing will begin. Russia will say Ukraine did it, while Ukraine will say Russia did it. I hope we and the family of those on board get the truth.
There is war going on and these people walk around with pikachu face at every loud boom.

If randomly Russia started transporting prisoners via plane, for some reason? Then yeah shitty but ukraine would have zero idea who was in it.
I doubt there is some ukrainian general cackling like “yes I just shot down my own citizens… heheheh”
Can someone much smarter than me geolocate this exact street in the video?
Thus we should be able to tell the direction of the plane and the most likely destination airport.
Flight should move generally west-ish maybe south considering Russia tend to trade POWs around Sumy region.
Just another day in Russia
Go check out the Russian propaganda war apologist dumpster fire of r/ukrainerussiareport , its power users are already hard at work trying to spin this as anything other than a another massive Russian L.
If there weren’t any Ukranian POWs on the plane, there will soon be dead Ukrainian POWs so evil Russia can keep up its lie.
Whether Ukraine shot it down or Russian air defense got trigger happy again, the better question to ask is frankly what the hell is a a Russian air force Il-76 doing flying into Belgorod in the first place.

This is only something like 40-50 km away from Ukraine’s border, meaning that it would have been well within range of Ukraine’s S-300s, much less any of their Patriot batteries or SAMP/T. A giant airlifter like that would have been a massive and easy target, so why the heck was it flying so close to hostile territory?
Russias version of what happened makes no sense…if the plane was bringing UAF POWs for an exchange, wouldn’t Ukraine forces know this? Why would they shoot it down? Unless it was UAF POWs and russia shot it down themselves….
Who shot it down?
If Russia was transporting military equipment such as missiles and POWs on the same transport that should be a war crime.
(I don’t believe there were POWs but if there were I blame Russia for their deaths.)
Very important that we don’t get distracted with all these Russian sourced rumors that POWs were on the plane. Absolutely no evidence as of now of what the cargo was. (No, a manifest shared by the head of RT does not count as evidence)
By focusing so much on the POWS we are getting distracted from the fact that a RU air force IL 76 just crashed. No video of the missile hit or whatever caused it to crash as of now.

“Sir, we’re losing a lot of planes recently, how do we solve this problem?”
“Let’s just claim the enemy was on board all our planes when they go down so it looks like they killed their own people.”

Hello stupid russians, what are you whining and crying? You started a war so eat it. Or you can wake the fuck up and stand against your government.
If Russia says X, we know that’s the one thing that didn’t happen.
Looks like the vertical stabilizer sheared off when it started to roll
> Simonyan published online an alleged list of captured Ukrainians who were on board the Il-76.
Ukrainian media checked the data of these people, and it turned out that 17 people from this list match the list of the exchange that took place on January 3.

Smoke looks quite similar to Ka-52, which was shot down a year ago with S-300
