It’s an ancient hotpoint. (In fact, looking at the photo I’ve just realised i need to clean the k ob, please excuse that, I’m off to do it now!).I don’t have an instruction manual. Recently when I’ve put it on cycle ‘H'(quick wash), it does the rinse then randomly stops on that symbol, I have to twist it slightly to get it to finish the cycle. Can anyone enlighten me ad to what it actually means?

  1. Place your egg timers in horizontally. It ensures you’re washing all the sand evenly.

  2. If you’ve lost the instruction manual then find the model number on the machine and look it up online

  3. I think some yellow ink rubbed off- you’re probably fine.

  4. Rinse hold as per the manual shared in the comments

  5. I instead want to know what you wash that only starts with a letter J.

Great for dealing with your undies after a night at the local curry house.

  7. What I do know is you can reach the grimy places with a q-tip

  8. The symbol means “rinse hold” – that is, pause at the end of the rinse cycle.  It gives you a chance to take drip-dry items out before they get creased in the spin cycle.

There’s probably a rinse hold button that clicks in and out to turn this option off and on.  On some models, the dial itself pushes in or pulls out.

  9. Why do people feel the need to censor themselves when the KNOB they are talking about CLEARLY ISN’T A PENIS???

  10. Google product number. Or write something like hotpoint washing machine symbols into google. It’s not tricky.

  11. Take the model off the name plate, find and download the manual, read what it means.

  12. It’s the datum point, all measurements should be relative to that point.

  14. Opens up the Omnitrix and transforms your machine into 1 of 10 different alien forms. Good luck hope you get one of the less destructive ones!

  15. Rinse Hold , btw your Knob needs a good cleaning:)
