  1. Waiting to see how r/ireland spins this into outrage bait.

The sound of r/ireland users rapidly re-evaluating their opinions on Leo Varadkar

  3. The gas thing about this sub is most don’t comprehend that of all the major parties, the likelihood of at least certain drugs getting anywhere close to being legal within least in the next ten years, will be under FG. FF won’t because they have conservative members, aside from some outspoken members on the user, and SF aren’t going near the topic.

But oddly, but not surprisingly, many here seem to think that SF will be the ones to make the change.

Edit: downvotes incoming as expected 🙄

  4. Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point

  5. It’s inevitable and prohibition and just say no has failed massively

  6. If you believe a world that comes out of Leo the liars mouth then you haven’t been paying attention for the last 10 years.

    His word is worth nothing.

  7. 50 years on from the ‘War on drugs’ and there has never been more drugs in society.

We will never stamp it out and thinking we will is living in the clouds.

Education and help for people struggling is a much better way to go.

Most dealers will deal in many drugs so it is exposing users to someone who will offer them harder drugs, that are mixed with God’s knows what.

  8. If you decriminalise, that’s it, an arseload more people are going to use it and abuse it where they wouldn’t were it criminalised. If you criminalise a drug you’ve told people is fine to use, yer fucked. Can’t get all those people off it you told was fine a minute ago.

These are drastically different conversations and we can’t just pretend that the consequences of prohibition, of criminalising a legal drug, are the same as keeping an illegal drug illegal.

More like, would anyone really be comfortable with people being able to legally abuse more drugs the way they abuse alcohol? I don’t think that’s better than what we’re at now.

  9. Lmao you’re stupid if you believe a word of this gobshite.

He knows election time is creeping up on him.

    Tick Tock Leo….tick-motherfuckin-tock.

  10. I just don’t get why he needed a citizens assembly to come to this conclusion. It’s like he’s afraid to actually be a leader.

  11. 🙏

Please do the right thing (that even the UK is doing better) you puritanical fucks.

  12. They’ll legalise it just before election time to try get themselves higher (hehe) in the polls

  13. Wouldnt change my vote tbh. It would be a great step forward but these bootlickers are only doing it as a means to get younger voters back

  14. There was a bit more to his response, especially in the second half which isnt included in this clip where he repeats the lie that arrests for personal possession don’t happen in Ireland.

Overall a good enough response and sentiment and miles beyond where we were in the 2013 legalisation debate which was full of reefer madness and calls to ramp up the war on drugs, not take a different route.

  15. Hmm, encouraging noises, but the devil’s in the detail I suppose. FG haven’t given me many reasons to trust them not to Nanny State it up for as long and as many ways as they possibly can.

  16. False alarm people, it’s basically a drugs for me, but not for thee type legislation. The poor are still gonna be bent over and fucked

  17. Is this like that thing in Star Trek when they want to defeat an evil all powerful computer they just tell it a paradox and watch it flip out going “ERROR ERROR DOES NOT COMPUTE IT CANNOT BE TRUE 😵”

I feel like a load of Redditors just went full paradox and I’m here for it. 🤣🤣🤣

  18. Why’s his voice like that? Big lad, weird small frog voice.

  19. I know this oversimplifies things…but why don’t y’all legalize marijuana, tax it, and use the proceeds to fund affordable housing developments?

  20. Fuck drug use. It should stay illegal, aside from medically prescribed weed. Drugs destroy people and communities.
