Germany needs to full start research on wind power based on farm lands and also on domestic lands [ back yards, gardens, front yards, parking spaces, curbs, river and canal shorelines. ]
Same thing with research on local grids, farm grids, and local and farm based power storage.
Or, you know, go nuclear and use the existing infrastructure
So on a day like today that 10GW (that’s gonna cost what 12 billion euro?) would generate a measly 5% of its installed capacity
Genius!
Offshore is the way to go. With floating offshore turbines there should be more than enough to power the whole of Europe. We just need a fraction of the investment that’s been poured into nuclear for more than half a century to go into renewable energy.

that is A LOT of land. 2% sounds like a small quantity, but it’s HUGE. Currently the total built area for Germany is 6% https://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=BUILT_UP
