  1. It’s TV. It’s supposed to be fake/entertainment.

Be pretty boring if it wasn’t.

  2. Honestly I expect fakery to an extent but this is a level I’m pretty uncomfortable with. As someone with both the illnesses she claims it “cures” I know how desperately you want anything to work and it feels pretty exploitative

  3. Steven Bartlett always seems to be chatting shit.

But promising to cure ME with some seeds is pretty low!

  4. Isn’t Steven Bartlett a bit of a notorious fraud? Like the business version of Frank Abagnale.

I wouldn’t touch anything connected to him tbh

  5. So let me get this straight. The day after it aired the investors brother was listed as CEO of the business? And the company hasn’t been called Acu seeds since 2022? I don’t know anything about business or taxes etc… but this seems odd even to me.

  6. It was such a weird segment. The crazy markup of a product that can be bought online for a few quid. Every Dragon was praising her without the slightest pushback.

Plus the fact it’s complete nonsense.

  7. Here I am, fuming that everyone is slagging off Steve Bartlett, who I adore …. Only to realise that I was in fact thinking of Steve Backshall.

  8. Steven Bartlett looks like someone rendered Will Smith entirely from memory on a PS1.

  9. Didn’t like this segment, Dragons always like to present themselves as ethical people thoughtful white hat business leaders, when in earlier seasons my opinion is that there was obvious collusion and gamesmanship between dragons to help each other get favourable offers.

Also in some of the offers (more so in earlier seasons) in my opinion were sometimes predatory which is not a good start for a close investor relationship and helping small businesses out, in fact is probably the worst start you could ask for. This seems to of gotten better though in later seasons.

Used to enjoy the show but not so much now, randomly did watch last weeks episode and was surprised and a bit disappointing (I guess I’m still naive) how there was no push back for what I consider to be homeopathic junk being sold to suckers.

Looking back I actually think some damage was done to viewers assumptions on how you can behave if you are smart and have money (less so now), and it’ s sad to see the show had so much clout and held to such high esteem that entrepreneurs sometimes got taken advantage of. The US version is of course the shameless catalysed high octane version of all this.

Dragons Den is partly about investing but in my opinion now equally about self promotion and careful management and promotion of the dragons individual brands.
