It’s crazy how his show was one of the only rational shows back when every other show was chewing bubblegum/saying we should just support Bush with the Iraq invasion.
It’s like the time when the Dixie chicks were made an example of, for those who dare to speak out against Dear Leader. He was one of the only voices out there back then that brought sanity back into the equation, and I grew such a tremendous respect for him because of it. Then with his support and victory for 9/11 responders, I wish he’d change his mind about politics.
He’s expected to start February 12 (not confirmed) and will host every Monday through the Election.
Correspondents will lead the other nights since Comedy Central couldn’t pick a permanent host.
I’m going to watch.

I heard his show on Apple+ was not great, but loved his work on the Daily Show. I’m excited for this. I’ll definitely watch.

Holy fucking shit, this is a big deal. He has been a pillar in me understanding American politics for so many years, and his departure from the show left a void that simply hasn’t been filled since, and I am including his Apple Tv show which just wasn’t the same.
I’ll take more of that any day, even if it is just once a week. They just gained a regular viewer back, holy shit.

They must be paying him a ton of money to come back. When he left he looked massively burned out. I was glad he was leaving and needed months of sleep.

Holy sh!+ this is great news. Didn’t realize how good we had it with John Stewart’s Daily Show back in 99’ until he was gone. The show’s been great since, and late night/satirical news shows since have been great as well; but over the years I’ve come to realize that John is the G.O.A.T.
I bet he feels pretty dumb making fun of George Bush’s intelligence and incompetence all those years.
Is it weird that this makes me more optimistic about the world?
