  5. If Haley ends up indirectly causing the heart attack/stroke that finally takes him out that will be the most constructive thing she’s done in her entire life; it won’t cancel out the typical Republican stink but it will put her above DeSantis, so there’s that.

  10. He should have won by 90%, He is not in a good place, and I think he knows he has to debate. Capt Stinky Rapist is pretty much a incumbent and he is not even at 70%.

  13. He’s freaking out because he thinks that once he secures the nomination he is untouchable, and it makes his criminal prosecutions look more politically motivated (even though they all started last year).

    He needs Haley to drop out to give him that feeling of safety and confidence.

    As long as Haley is still in the race he feels that he can be replaced, and that worries him.

  15. He knows he’s going to win the nomination, but I also suspect he knows how bad of a showing this is for a quasi incumbent. History is pretty clear such a candidate is doomed if they can’t generate near unanimous approval inside the party.

    If Biden starts leveraging the advantages incumbents get and improves his favorability just a bit (he will; he’s done this job for a while), Trump is likely toast. The energy that was building up for him 2016? It’s dissipating now and he sees it.

    Turnout was higher than 2016, but not completely demolishing her means there is a reasonably large portion of the base that does not like him.
