For once I agree with ‘cancel culture’, this thing belongs in a museum and not at the centre of one of the most important ceremonial events in the Netherlands. The carriage they use instead looks better and less tacky anyway.
I gotta ask, when does he think The Netherlands will be ‘ready’ to resume glorifying colonialism?
what a pussy, just redesign it
What about INDEPENDENCE for Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire and other COLONIES in the Caribbean?
>In the words of King William IV, a former naval officer, being driven in the Gold State Coach was like being on board a ship “tossing in a rough sea”. Queen Victoria complained of the “distressing oscillation” of the cabin. She would often refuse to ride in the Gold State Coach. A later monarch, King George VI said that his journey from the palace to Westminster Abbey for his coronation was “one of the most uncomfortable rides I have ever had in my life”.[5] Queen Elizabeth II referred to her coronation journey in the coach as “horrible” and “not very comfortable”, which is possibly why it was not used for her Diamond Jubilee when she was aged 86, having previously featured in her Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations.[6]
When there wouldn’t be any black people depicted, the woke crowd would shout either about whitewashing or not enough diversity.
Trying to repair their image after their less than stellar Corona reaction I guess, including the obligatory lockdown garden party. A bit daft, but then again, the entire concept of royalty is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Good thing my grandfather isn’t around anymore, he was a personal guard of the queen and probably wouldn’t appreciate me being republican.
Just design a new carriage without any non-Dutch people in it, ez
Quite funny how those banging on about the colonialism are more than happy to benefit from it and when you suggest that perhaps if they feel so strongly they should relinquish their privileged job and life they have which is as a result of the tyranny of colonialism and give it to someone who is from the affected nations they go all quiet and start staring at their feet and mumbling.
Few moments later: Dutch King abdicates himself over colonial heritage.

If it is anything like the UK [Gold State Coach](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_State_Coach), it is probably a very uncomfortable ride.
