‘Stop reporting on the evil we are doing, it makes us look bad’
The BBC has been one of the most pro-Israel publications. When Palestinians or Lebanese die, they rarely even mention who killed them in the title and use passive voice. When Israeli’s die, they immediately do, and it’s front and center. And they only cover Palestinians dying if a huge amount of civilians die at once in one incident, while if it’s Israeli’s it can be as low as a dozen soldiers.
They’ll even do repeat the, “hamas controlled health ministry” to discredit any information on Palestinian deaths when multiple international bodies have stated the numbers are correct when checked, which, of course, they never mention after using that line
Where’s the bias? The fact that they’re not completely engaging like Israeli state media?
This doesn’t say what anyone’s complaints about the coverage are.
It does heavily criticise Gary Lineker, his statements, and the BBCs response.
I would consider that clickbait.
I also don’t think Lineker has said anything out of place. Including sharing Owen Jones’ video. Owen Jones is a journalist. We are free to share journalistic pieces in this country.
Isreal has genuine questions to ask about their facilitation of genocidal behaviour in their top ranks. Any reasonable person reading the cases being put forward in various courts would at least agree that.
Isreal have the right to defend themselves. Palestinians have the right to exist. These are not mutually exclusive.
So the complaint seems to be (a) that Gary Lineker has tweeted generally anti-Israeli stuff (in the context of a months-long bombing campaign that has killed at least 25,000 people) and (b) Owen Jones interviewed someone who referred to the above action as genocidal.
Did someone invent a new definition of antisemitism when I was sleeping or something
Wow. This comments section didn’t take long to go to shit did it?
“Wah wah seeing a dead Palestinian child on BBC News made me feel bad.”
Good.
Anyway….
Good, fuck Israel.
They’re just pissed the world finally sees Israel’s true colours. The new Nazis.
People generally talk badly about a country that’s committing a genocide. At least, you’d hope they would.
However, according the BBC, Palestinians die and Israeli’s are killed so who knows really
Whenever I’ve seen BBC coverage I feel they’re falling over themselves to not appear anti-Semitic in any way.
If only the BBC, or anyone, could report effectively and objectively on what’s happening. But Israel won’t let them.
I guess they can be expected to report verbatim what isreal wants them to, and we can lap it up.
As far as I’m concerned, the coverage from the BBC news has been very Pro Israel. However even the BBC cannot hide from the news. Those employees should take a stand and actually leave because the news is happening right before our eyes in real time and whether they want to hear/see it or not, Genocide is taking place and the UK government and US government are colluding. We don’t need the BBC or their watered down news items to understand that.
