This is a tough situation now for Biden. Abbott is setting up a trap. He wants Biden to take firm action here so he can seem like a victim and paint Biden as the aggressor. Dems could lose a lot of support in Texas if Biden acts firmly, hurting their Congressional races. There’s also a real risk of civil conflict.
Yet if Biden lets Abbott just ignore the decision then Abbott also comes out on top as a stronger, defiant leader who can do whatever he wants and readily embarrasses the president. This is a bit of a dilemma politically.

I don’t think Abbott is technically defying any Supreme Court ruling. As I understand it, the exact issue before the Court was whether or not the feds could cut through wire placed by Texas. The Court said yes. Abbott is putting up more wire, that the feds presumably can cut through.

Democrats currently have a bipartisan plan for border security and immigration they are trying to get to the floor of the house and republicans refuse, they don’t want to give them a “win” before the election. It’s not about governing it’s about talking points, don’t be fooled.
How come no one realizes CA, Arizona and New Mexico have a southern border, but no migrant crisis, this “crisis” is made up by Texas fascists, oldest play in the fascist handbook.
