Russians tried to soothe the sadness of having their military transport jet shot down by saying that it was full of Ukrainian POW's, even releasing names of the POW'S aboard.
But typical Russian incompetence again won given that the list was fabricated and even some of these… pic.twitter.com/QIP7FMbOvX

NBC NEWS is reporting it on the tv tonight.
Russia always lies!
Deutschlandfunk from Germany stated:
“… Kremlin propagandist Margarita Simonyan has published a list of allegedly deceased Ukrainian prisoners of war.
However, not all parts of the list can be correct.
It also includes the names of people who had been exchanged earlier, i.e. Ukrainian soldiers soldiers who are already back in Ukraine. …”
Here is a copy of the text of this tweet:
“Russians tried to soothe the sadness of having their military transport jet shot down by saying that it was full of Ukrainian POW’s, even releasing names of the POW’S aboard.
But typical Russian incompetence again won given that the list was fabricated and even some of these guys are back home in Ukraine.””
Included is an image of the list being published that shows the individual POWs with info crossed out because they were already back in Ukraine! Here is a copy of that image with POW info so that you do not have to go to the source: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GEnSsuHWQAEAOco?format=jpg&name=large
“Journalists” sure struck gold with this one, a lot of Ukrainian Jesuses to interview!
Happy to hear not all of them were on that plane apparently?
A German online-newspaper was quoting russion news with 79 dead, iirc.
I sincerely hope that’s true.
-A Westerner
This is the way. Have an interview of a dead man that died in a plane crash being there and telling them what’s what.
As soon as I heard it I was pretty sure russia said that in hopes of getting Ukraine to lower their guard.
This reminds me of Indiana Jones when goes over the cliff with a tank and joins in looking down at the tank while his family mourns.
I filed a complaint against the ABC in Australia. Very disappointed in our national broadcaster.
I swear that corporate news executives do lines of coke on a daily basis. I also blame the newscasters who refuse to stand up to them as well.
Who, what, when, where, why, and how?
Any headline in the immediate aftermath beyond “Russian Plane Crashes Near Border With Ukraine” was irresponsible, and a failure of the most basic journalistic standards. Nothing more could be verified. Perhaps “Russian Plane Shot Down Near Border With Ukraine,” once more video had been released.
Why western media?
Transparently Bullshit. Goebbels complained about the Allies…
There seems to be some sort of confirmation that Ukrainian prisoners were on the plane.
According to this [article](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68083739), Zelensky accused Moscow of “playing with the lives of Ukrainian prisoners”. The article even says Zelensky demanded an international inquiry.
Ruzzian shills who reprint Kremlin press briefs verbatim aren’t really expected to have any self-recognition.
The Ukrainian army needs to give all the listed men a patch for surviving a Russian plane crash 😆
There are a few problems with russias story….
First, russia came up with a list of POWs that were supposed to be on the flight. The problem is the list included names of people who had already been exchanged on january 3rd, so right away we know that the russian information is bogus.
Second, russia doesnt transport prisoners by expensive flights. Trains or buses are how russia transports. Now russia did fly in a group of prisoners for one of the exchanges in the past but this was not an exchange.
Third, The first photos from the site of the Il-76 crash in the Belgorod region are important because despite being supposedy filled with 65 prisoners, there are no signs of scattered bodies in the field. Some sort of magic?
Fourth, russia says there were 74 people on board, including 65 prisoners and 6 crew members. Are we really supposed to believe that russia was transporting 65 prisoners on a millitary aircraft with only 3 guards? Thats adorable.
Fifth, when you compare the location of this crash to other aspects of the battlefield, the most interesting obvious problem is that there are no Patriot missile batteries within 100 miles of this site. Patriot PAC 3s only have a range of 37 miles….soooo…how does THAT happen?
Remember the informational warfare is on hard, and will continue this year. They will tell you its over, that they others gave up, that you are alone, that letting Russian imperialism do what it wants – is not a bad thing.
But these are lies.
CBS did a lot of quoting. They shared quotes from Russian officials stating there were POWs on board and then they shared quotes from Ukrainian officials stating they have not confirmed who was on board and that there is supposed to be a prisoner exchange, however they do not know the means of transporting the POWs.
So CBS didn’t necessarily take a stance on it they just shared what both sides had to say about it. The only thing incorrect is their article titles stating POWs on board. So they are still guilty of misinformation in the form of click-bait.
