Ten years too late, Yellen. Should have started paying attention when this train wasn’t already completely off the tracks. The damage to our population is already done and can’t be fixed until there are massive changes. Bringing in immigrants only works well when quality of life is retained.
Not retaining quality of life and bringing in immigrants to keep up our numbers will lead to major social strife. It’s not a solution.
She’s right one this one , I will give her that for once . Many friends / family are holding off on kids because of child care expenses and expenses generally speaking.
I wonder what our future will look like in 2050-2080 with our birth rates at 1.7 and presumably going lower.
