SIPTU are refusing to represent the security industry in any of their battles with the ero being delayed. They can go suck an egg.
There was meant to be an unveiling event yesterday by the Cork Council of Trade Unions but that was delayed until Friday afternoon, same with the 1pm press conference. I doubt it’s meant to be visible right now.
This position shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, the public sector unions have had a regular presence at the recurring protests.
Great to see. SIPTU also organised rallies at the Russian embassy in support of Ukraine.
Fair play to them taking a stand for Ukraine and Palestine.
Both Hamas and the current Israeli government have repeatedly rejected calls for a ceasefire.
Is this towards Russia?
That’ll do it! That’s all that’s needed to stop the war! Fair play SIPTU!
How about raising our take home pay ? Sorry all for palestine but siptu are so fecking useless ..as someone who was heavily involved
There was a thread this morning on why don’t Irish people join trade unions anymore.
This is a perfect example of why
Instead of the union focusing on local worker issues, the comrade in charge focuses the organisations time and energy into global politics.
If you are a member of SIPTU you are involuntarily associated with whatever the comrades choice of politics is. Regardless of how admirable the message is, a trade union should not be making global political statements and positions on behalf of it’s members.
What’s their slogan gonna be when hamas break yet another ceasefire? Lol
I’m sure those who started it are shaking in their boots.Horrible sign. I would stop everything in this world because Irish don’t like it.
Jayziz, it looks miserable down in Cork.
Ceasefire where though?
Ukraine?
Gaza?
Red Sea?
Iran v Pakistan?
How did that piece of shit building ever get planning permission. On the quays and a storey taller at the boundary than the neo classical building beside it. Totally wrong.
Israelis and Palestinians will never see eye to eye for one reason alone, they both believe they are entitled to the same piece of land and both are willing to die for it. This conflict goes back not just years decades or centuries but millennia, it’s a founding tenant of Judaism they Moses promised them that land after fleeing the Egyptian pharaohs. And also where Jordan is now is where northern Palestine once was so really this conflict will never end until one side completely eradicates the other. And in my humble opinion in the 21st century that should not be happening, but human instinct will always be human instinct.
Release the hostages
7th of October there was a ceasefire.
I don’t understand why ppl are not asking for permanent peace. Going back to the same status quo means we will have another 7th of October.
