  1. brought this shite in during covid and havent taken it away.

  2. Just wait til you get to the last page and then it tells you it doesn’t work in chrome

  3. I’ve MOT’d multiple cars in England, where it’s done through the local garage and can generally get an appointment within a few days.

    None of this nonsense.

  4. Car due at the start of march best date they can give me in my local test centre is the 24th of June

  5. Blame the cunts who are using bots to profit off of public booking systems.

  6. Mine is due start of Feb, booked it 2 weeks ago, closest date was in June. Last year they didn’t let me tax it since the MOT was up on the same day tax was due but this year it worked so I did it and took a screenshot, rather than feckin about trying to change the appointment I’m leaving it as June.

I think I might book next year’s now just to be on the safe side.

  7. Try again later, I used to find certain times in the evening or weekend mornings (I think) would have a short wait time or I’d get straight through.

  8. Belfast based here, mine was due for today, got the reminder just before Christmas. Got a slot in Newry for 3 weeks ago , car failed went home and got the retest booked in for Downpatrick for 3 days later . On both occasions I arrived 45 mins early and got seen straight away as other people had not showed up.

The queue system may be slow but it does prevent the website crashing mid transaction leaving you with Schrödinger’s appointment. But with a bit of flexibility there’s appointments available most days

It’s shocking that they still haven’t caught up ..but the folks in the test centres seem to be rattling through them as quickly as possible, working a lot of late nights and early mornings. We just don’t seem to have enough people actually doing the tests

Bit worried about the amount of people who just assume their insurance will remain valid if they don’t have an MOT. The DVA can happily agree to not prosecute you for lack of MOT but they can’t guarantee that your insurance is valid without it

  9. Book an appointment. Once you have the appointment, you don’t have to wait in the queue to amend the appointment.

  10. I had this joy yesterday! M.O.T. up on February got an appointment for June!

  11. Yep. Then the next appointment is 6 months away. I need to start checking for cancellations.
