City had a two-year Champions League ban overturned in 2020 at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) and Ceferin’s comments came in light of 115 charges from the Premier League over breaching financial rules. Guardiola says the Uefa chief has not respected the investigation by speaking out.
Ceferin also said he understood mounting angst over how long the case had dragged on but refused to be drawn on whether City – who deny any wrongdoing – should be stripped of titles if found guilty by an independent commission.
“As a lawyer he should wait, and after he can do whatever he wants. Whatever sentence there is about Uefa he has to respect it,” said Guardiola. “He has a lot to do at Uefa. A lawyer should respect the procedure. He knows we have the right to defend ourselves.”
Ceferin is a plank, from another report on the Beeb website:
“” Uefa’s technical director Zvonimir Boban has quit in protest at Aleksander Ceferin’s intention to stay on for a further term as president.
Ceferin was elected in 2016, replacing Michel Platini, and one of the reforms he put in place was a three-term limit for all executive appointments.
However, he is trying to change the rule to remain in power until 2031. “”
I wouldn’t really take the word of someone who’s trying to currupt the system to extend his own term at UEFA, as righteous.
Angry Pep = Trophies
Someone, correct me if I’m wrong but, wasn’t the UEFA investigation primarily about inflated sponsorship deals over their market value (lying about income) while the PL allegations are about hiding payments to staff members (lying about expenditure). In this sense, he couldn’t say “I knew it, told you so” because the two cases are completely different?
I swear these shitty papers will use literally any excuse to put either “slam” or “blasts” in their title.
This is what Peo said about Ceferin:
“As a lawyer he should wait, and after he can do whatever he wants. Whatever sentence there is about Uefa he has to respect it,” said Guardiola. “He has a lot to do at Uefa. A lawyer should respect the procedure. He knows we have the right to defend ourselves”
Most reasonable, unaggressive take on the planet lol.

***The Telegraph reports:***
Pep Guardiola has hit back at Uefa president [Aleksander Ceferin’s interview with Telegraph Sport](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/01/23/uefa-aleksander-ceferin-interview-manchester-city-ffp-guilt/) when he insisted the governing body was “right” about the treble-winners breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.
