Yes its been pretty bad in the past but I’m not sure who can really get upset at the signings of lee, vitinha, ndour (free), moscardo, ugarte. They are young, relatively cheap and a high ceiling.
I do think we could use a big proven name like a barella, de jong, bernardo silva but at least the recruiting methodology is better than it used to be
I mean Vitinha has broken through this season and Ugarte and Lee have been good signings but I agree with the rest. Tbf Geuye was very good in his first season.

Yes we had many different midfielders over the years like other teams
Anyone that changed coach almost every year is likely to have similar results
Many of those names were not bad at all and we had many working solution imo

Damn what’s kinda crazy is we reached more CL semifinals and finals with midfielders like paredes, gueye, and herrera than we did with matuidi and motta 😔 how?
Out of all those names the only one that we can truly say was embarrassing to have was Stambouli. The lad couldn’t make a pass to save his life
