  1. I know it’s very early. Seems like the truth is starting to slip out. Russian officials were on that plane and Russia can’t continue to be embarrassed so they say there were POWs on it. Only time will tell.

  2. If I were a prominent Putin opponent, or a Putin ally with enough power to be a threat to Putin, I would habitually change my travel plans at the last minute.

  3. So, Ukrainian intelligence – S-300 missisles or senior Russian officials?

  4. This is starting to build a case for a Russian self goal.

  5. Explains the fake pow list of already released prisoners. Either they shot their own plane down or Ukraine knew it was a valid target.

  6. No matter who shot it down or what/who was onboard, it’s one less military cargo plane for the failing Russian Empire

  7. I’d like to hear someone other than Moscow or Kiev weigh in on this. Both sides have ample reason to lie. What seems the most likely to me is that Russia sent the plane, full of POW’s, without warning, to create an embarrassment for Kiev, and undermine even the basic conciliatory show of a prisoner transfer.

  8. High-ranking Russian officials were supposed to be on board the Il-76 aircraft that crashed in Belogorod Oblast on Jan. 24, but the Federal Security Service (FSB) did not allow them to board at “the last moment,” – says it all

  9. I am confused. This article says that the plane crashed. Wasn’t it shot down?

  10. I suspect these POWs died in Russian custody already and the Russians concocted a plan to cover it up by sending up a juicy-looking but empty plane they knew would be shot down by the Ukrainians – turning a war crime into a psyop to demoralize air defense and cause future hesitation.

  11. Put it this way, there have not been any plane crashes in America. Now there are two in six months with Russian military officials?

  12. Tragic news about that upcoming freak multiple fatality that nobody will see coming.

  13. It’s almost like… they knew something was going to happen.

And yet, ruZZia won’t shut up about how Ukraine is responsible for shooting down the plane.

  14. Could this an attempt to make the Ukraine air defense more hesitant to shoot down expensive cargo planes?

Edit: with the attempt being the story after they lost the plane.

  15. Who’s the guy that gave Buddy Holly his seat? Not the same? It’s crazy to have so much public intel on a war.

  16. Sounds like this was an attempt to get Ukraine to hesitate before shooting down air targets.

  17. >Russia claimed that 65 Ukrainian POWs, six crew members, and three accompanying people were on board.

So we know it’s a lie and whatever happened is something Russia doesn’t want to become public. If it was true they would post photos of the crash site with bodies.

  18. All planned by the sick and twisted Russian – I’m no longer putting a plural there – all of them are just 1 huge naive, brainwashed, fearful group of nothing.

  19. I think at this point a lot of russian officials are booking flights and not taking them just to find out their standing with Putin.

  20. None of this shit matters. I hope Ukraine shoots down every one of their stupid planes, and tanks and helicopters and everything. Fuck them all. Don’t invade their country and you won’t get shot at, simple as that.

  21. So Team Russia faked a flight plan involving officials and leaked it, coercing Ukraine (or someone) to down the plane but instead of Russian Officials, it’s allegedly packed full of Ukrainians POWs.
