Explosions in Yemen as US and UK launch airstrikes on Houthis after Red Sea attacks

This video was amended on 19 January 2024 to remove footage of a gas explosion that was from a different incident, in 2023.

The US and the UK have launched air and missile strikes in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, aimed at halting attacks on ships in the Red Sea. They said steps had been taken to minimise civilian casualties, partly by attacking at night, but it was unclear initially what damage had been done on the ground and the impact on the Houthi military and the local population.

  3. Are the british public not supposed to vote for stuff like this? Im pretty sure in world war 2 the usa had a vote to see if they would help the uk in the war

  6. All people saying this is wrong yes if they have to divert ships around Africa just to get here the cost of living will be even more than i.t is already

  7. Right and wrong ain’t really right and wrong; it’s who can afford to cast the stone; quite literally… the terrorist becomes the poorer nation.. the hero becomes the wealthier nation… lol that doesn’t add up..

  8. And WW3 hre we come,
I wonder how all those " assylum seeking ", lol economic migrant men feel about this !

  9. The shadow of Afghanistan hangs over the Houthi conflict. In Afghanistan the US spent $1 trillion for nothing!! Against the Houthis, each air strike using precsion guided missles, costs the US millions of $. For what? To hit some vague, primitive concrete bunker? The Houthis mount serious campaigns using simple drones and home made missles that cost only a few hundred $. The US is spending its way into bankruptcy and achieving very little in the process.

  10. Guardian thank you for reporting this

  11. yemen is already a poor country, why is us and uk trying to destroy it, or are they going to create another israel out of it. i mean who knows, countries like uk, us, israel are really cruel.

  12. Cyprus is not happy about any of this mess, don’t take the p or you’ll be without your bases. Don’t think you can treat Cyprus like you do your own population.
