  1. I love her voice& energy, I hope she had a peaceful passing🌈 our ships will all sail beyond the horizon, I just hope the seas were calm as hers went.

  2. She had an edgy coolness about her. And was gorgeous.
Check out Brand New Key (sex) and Look What They’ve Done To My Song, Ma (record company woes), both extremely unlikely hits. RIP.

  3. Wonderfully talented artist. I have Candles in the Rain and Gather Me, both amazing albums. Sad she has passed.

  4. “I looked around, for faces id know. I fell in love with the people in the front row”

  5. I always thought of “Brand New Key” as about sex but not actual adult sex. It’s about kids’ first idea of what sex is when they hit puberty, just riding around their crush’s house and imagining being with them.

  6. Was lucky enough to see her in concert years ago when she was opening act for Steppenwolf; she absolutely stole the show.

  7. The funniest thing I’ve seen in years was a skit from the new Kids In the Hall where a DJ after the Apocalypse happened keeps playing Brand New Key because its the last song left. Absolutely hysterical. I’ve done alright for a girl and so did Melanie, fare thee well.

  8. I loved the reboot Kids in the Hall episode in the bunker with Brand New Key played on repeat. This was my introduction to her since I’m old enough to know Kids in the Hall but too young to miss Melanie’s heyday. Looking forward to checking more of these songs out.

  9. I remember my mom listening to Melanie when I was preschool age. I remember her songs. She’ll be missed.

  10. I just discovered her music a few weeks ago, and I’ve been hooked. Such a beautiful voice. Thank you for the wonderful music!
