Fixly.pl (great site) gave me a quote for the labour but I’m curious if anyone can tell me the price of replacing the windows and the balcony door + windows in the pictures with modern double glazed equivalents with better insulation?

Thanks and have a good day

  1. 1. Double glazed are minimum. Triple are better.

    2. For triple glazed windows/Doors you may get some payback from government (termomodernization payback programs).

    3. For exact prices better ask in ANY local business that’s working with replacing windows. Why in point 4. Just google “okna <cityname>”.

    4. Windows as a product Has 23%VAT tax. Replacing windows as a service has 8%vat tax. This 15% difference usually means you will get installment for “free” from the shop you will but them. Plus valid varranty.

4a they can help you with getting payback from government programs.

    5. Prices will depend on:
    – sizes
    – layers of glass
    – choosen profile (shape of plastic and producer company)
    – colours (all white/one size/two sides coloured)
    – some minor fittings and internal parts if you want custom look.

For windows and door on photos I would prepare at least few thousands PLN. Depending on what I wrote above from… Idk, 6-8k+ for cheapest trashy option? Probably more.

  2. Find a local company which are a sales representative of a window manufacturer.
Look for “montaż/sprzedaż okien” on local market, try in Google first.

The price highly depends on the window type, options selected, color etc.

Ask the company for the “pomiar okien”, they will come, measure the size, propose the window type etc. After few days you will get a valuation from the manufacturer, then you can choose that offer or refuse. In second case you will pay only for the measurement.
Of course you have to ask also if the installation price, but usually it’s in the offer. But after the installation you have to do a plaster processing (obróbka tynkarska) around the window, so ask if they do that too (not all companies want to do that).

  3. Photos you posted looks quite old-school and nice. Check first if your building is not under historic buildings protection(nadzór konserwatora zabytków). If so then you may have to satisfy some special requirements, like having windows with wooden frames etc.
