Is Ryanair breaking EU law? They are refusing to generate invoices for business trips, what should I do?

  1. One of the many reasons I never fly Ryanair. Once the cancelled my flight the day before even though it was known for 1 week already that there will be a strike on the destination airport… Fly with Wizzair instead, they send you a proper invoice.

  2. I think the issue that I would have here is why the hell there is no vat on international flights?!

  3. If you need it for some tax nuances, so let the company purchase the tickets for you. Usually, there is a designated person responsible for managing rotations. If I were in the customer support of Ryanair, I would strongly recommend contacting autism specialists, and I would kindly ask you to refrain from using our services, lol.

  4. I once had to pay overweight and the handling agent refused to issue a receipt of payment. It will be sent by email, they said. To an address I don’t have control over.

I reported Ryanair and the handling agent for tax fraud and money laundering and charged back the amount. No receipt =
    not a valid expense.

  5. Talk to your accountant regarding this. I doubt that you are the first with this problem so they would know what to do, advice you.

  6. There is only one scenario I would ever consider flying Ryanair. Super cheap ticket. For anything over €10 I would consider any other airline. Fuck Ryanair.

  7. Hello 🙂 they are not wrong. The format is annoying, and some airlines will go the extra mile to generate an easily consumable invoice. Ryanair isn’t one of them.

However – that is not an issue as they are also correct. There is no VAT in certain flights. The confirmation email will usually have a breakdown of all fees and taxes, and this will suffice for accounting.

Source: I’ve worked with this shit for years 🙂

Which EU law? Or is this just a long shot?

And if this is about EU law, as it’s a business trip, let a lawyer / legal person take care of it? Or just take your loss.

    More relevant questions:

    * is Ryanair a nasty airline? Yes!
    * does Ryanair have friendly customer serivce, or customer service at all? No.
    * should I fly Ryanair? No!

Doing business with Ryanair is like buying a watch in a dark alley: You can’t be sure what you get, and complaining is useless.
