the traitors marathon tonight as i haven’t caught up with this weeks yet, then the finale!
My friends and I do a film club where one person chooses a film per month, then we get together on webcam with a few beers and chat about it. It was my turn this month, so I went for Watership Down as I absolutely love the film. It didn’t go down well, though the majority of the criticism was down to the animation rather than anything else.
Got the in-laws round tomorrow night, and at some point my wife is out for a few hours on Sunday with mates, which gives me time to watch the Royal Rumble, woo.
I’m off to the pub at lunch for a team Christmas meal, as a lot of us were really ill before Christmas. That should be nice, though I have to drive as the pub is 15 miles away.
Got a little bit of work to do, a meeting and then, well, not much else. I may fill the rest of the day by perusing exotic soft drinks suppliers to see if I can get any inspiration for making some of my own. I’ve been quite intrigued by birch beer and tamarind soda recently.
I’d like to say I’m going out for a stroll in the park, a spot of afternoon tea at a posh hotel, concluding with a spending spree in some of the nicest, poshest shops in my city, but alas, I’m just going to work. At least it’s Friday.
Working mostly, but it’s not a mad rush today so researching how generative AI can help our business. Bit of lunch with a mate. Pizza & Movie night with the family later!
I think I’m having a sick day. I had an accident last night and, one A&E trip later, my hand is bandaged. I can’t exactly type very easily or drive so today might be a sofa and Star Wars day.

Sadly I’m also absolutely on my arse with covid so I can’t even go and get a celebratory Greggs 🙁

Kellogg’s do chocolate cornflakes now so I treated myself to a box, which I opened this morning. Not bad, but £2.75 is still a bit steep. Worked well mixed with my fruit muesli.
Bit fuzzy from my Burns Night whiskies last night, skipped the gym cos I pulled a thigh muscle in a boxing class Wednesday evening. Nice chilled day working from home then a few beers and some gaming, followed by more big kid food for tea in the form of potato waffles and either a chicken steak or a lamb grill thing.
Thinking of trying out intermitten fisting to lose a few kg.
Got a nice easy day today actually, I’ve stopped treating myself to friday take away pizzas as it’s broken the £35 mark now for our usual order, we’re going to go to Waitrose and see if we can get two of the best pizzas and a side of wings for less that £35. I expect we’ll come in way under.
Gonna edit some of the near 10 hours of footage of Arma 3 I have of me and the lads, we’ve been playing a ton of the antistasi mod where you take back control of the island.
Much being mortared, taking out helicopters with missiles and sending mortars back with “to whome it may concern” written on them.
Tonight we’re playing dungeons and dragons for the first time in aaaaages, running a small one shot that should take 4 hours or so 🙂
All around good day.
Got tickets for the Indie night at my local music venue, Esquires. Apparently the lads from Yard Act are going to be there doing a DJ set. No idea how that’s going to work… Maybe one presses play while the others throw shapes or maybe stand around looking bored… But anyway should be good nevertheless, it’s going to be nice to get out in town.
Going for a meal first somewhere which might end up being Pizza Express.
In other news, I have a presentation to do today and for once I’m actually prepared for it. So that’s nice.
I knock off work at 3 today. Pretty cool.
Week and a half with no school for kiddo so a bit of a Groundhog Day here of Lego and the usual child chaos. Semi-silent Groundhog Day as I still don’t have a voice 😩 feel like I’m neglecting him not being able to chat away as usual!
Feeling a touch emotional about this being my last Friday at this job :’)
Wish it was payday though – got a lot of meals out and nice things planned over the next week and my bank account is already looking sad.
Workmate got everyone bacon rolls this morning.
I dont have much to shout about but at least being thought of was a bonus
Still sick, this cough won’t bugger off, as well as a sore throat. Wisdom tooth is playing up as well. Had yesterday and today off as annual leave so it doesn’t mess up my attendance (already got a warning, who dares get sick when you force people to come into an office sick, right?!)
Video games, tea and snacks are on the agenda today, sick of being in bed.
Friday off so I’m building the Lego Hogwarts Castle. I may be some time.

Assuming it’s increased costs, but it’s welcome. Don’t think I’ve received spam mail in weeks
Paid for the first time since September, so might treat us to steak for dinner tonight. Not got anything lined up for after this contract ends yet, so that will be my one splurge and will put most of it into savings.
BF is going to meet an old school friend tomorrow night, so I might go to the cinema. The one near is dead cheap still.
Off to the theatre tonight with a friend, Saturday I have no idea and Sunday off to the zoo. Got paid for the first time since Christmas and it feels amazing.
Got half a day off and driving down to Bristol to visit a friend I made when I lived there. Off out on the town and then a chilled night in tomorrow with a takeaway! Work has been hectic so looking forward to something nice to unwind!
