    >”Europe must urgently prepare for a possible war with Russia”: after earlier warnings from Poland and Germany, Belgian Chief of Staff Michel Hofman is now publicly sounding the alarm about our defense capacity. But why are they doing that just now? Has the threat suddenly become so much greater? Four questions and answers.

But don’t worry, VRT tells you to stay calm:

Dear VRT, maybe less sensationalism in your headlines would help.

  2. They wouldnt dare attack Belgium even if they wanted to. That’s basically declaring war on EU and NATO combined.

    They aren’t that dumb.

  3. Military service will come back again. It could already be next year, if Ukraine surrenders because of lack of men/weapons.

  4. We actually only need top air defense systems, since Russia might bomb Nato headquarters in Brussels and other Belgian sites…

The chances of Russian troops physically getting all the way into Belgium seem non existant

    Also, because of Russia’s treath,

The job of a Belgian general suddenly becomes one of the highest status jobs in Belgium…

So these generals have mixed interests when announcing that we have to prepare for war…

  5. I don’t care about the scaremongering but we’re part of NATO and have to comply with NATO obligations such as military spending.

  6. Fearmongering. Will give a boost to the defense industries. Which will create jobs anyways so not bad at the end of the day. Attacking a weak Ukraine is one thing, attacking the f@cking headquarters of NATO is something completely different.
