I’m working in germany with with ferienjob program for 3 months, but in last payslip i got deducted or as you can see i have to pay for “AZK Abgeltung negativer saldo” because i didn’t work enough for 140 hours. But, it is not my fault in the first place because the place i worked didn’t give me enough hours for work.

Am i being cheated out by my recruiter? Or is it how the things worked?

  1. Seems like they are charging you for your feiertage? Or they pay a set amount monthly and then deduct it if you’re missing a few days (they pay you for the full month and deduct the hours, seems like a strange way to do payroll accounting. if that were the case they should pay you 140 menge of Zeitlohn and then deduct the 14, only to add it seperately with feiertag).

Doesn’t seem legal if its the former but germany can be a strange place

AZK means Arbeitszeitkonto, meaning the amount of hours you worked over or under your required contract amount. if you came there and there was no work it becomes a difficult subject, especially for a temporary worker/contractor there can be very little recourse
