If all our wealthy people just paid tax without shenanigans these two would be much lower on the list.

She founded the Children’s High Level Group, known as Lumos, which works to “end the systematic institutionalization of children across Europe and help them find safer, more caring places to live.” She has also contributed to various other charitable causes through her philanthropic trust, Volant.
Helped save female Afghani lawyers from the taliban.
Funded the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology clinic in Edinburgh.
And rather more contentiously, has stuck to her guns about the areas where she believes sex should take precedence over gender identity in the face of abuse, rape and death threats.

Is it that they pay a very high amount in taxes or that they smoke a lot of weed?
Because both would work with these two.
Are we expected to give them a pat on the back for not engaging in tax evasion…?
People with high income paying more tax? Why should this be newsworthy?
How about those who dont pay? Perhaps put them in the paper.

Donating about 20% of your wealth when you’re a billionaire isn’t particularly laudable, especially when much of that charity donation can be used as a tax right off.
Still, we are truly fucked as a country when “woman obeys law, pays some taxes” is celebrated.

I had to Google Alex Gerko but respect to that guy. A lot of guys originally from overseas would usually find all kinds of tax loopholes but he doesn’t seem to have done that. That’s a lot of fucking tax.
