Why does damage to the Ulez camera affect the traffic lights?
We has something similar where we are in SE London; there was (what looked like) a downed ULEZ camera at a junctions and the traffic lights were completely dead.
What do the anti ULEZ crew think the end game is?
If they keep causing vandalising cameras TFL are just going to raise the charge to cover all the damage, they’re not exactly going to roll it back.
Legally, the lights exist to regulate the cars, to allow them to cross the pedestrian path. Not to allow pedestrians to cross the car path.
No crossing? Road should be closed.
Bet that’d stop them pretty quickly.
Really the only reason it isn’t like that is the Highway Code was written assuming a Policeman would be provided to control the junction, and its never been revised since.
