I think that there is definitely a lot of exaggerated outrage against Madrid. The foul on Bellingham was soft, the Vini handball is debatable (but it was contact his shirt sleeve), and the penalty ignored other potential fouls from Rudiger etc… The fact that all three happened to go in our favor is suspicious and regardless if there was foul play or not, it is horrible for optics.
The response from Madrid/Ancelotti has been very aggressive and bad for optics. Pointing the finger back at Barca just paints a horrible picture on La Liga and I can imagine if I was a neutral it would turn me off from tuning into future La Liga matches.
What a fucking mess, if only Spanish football took itself more professionally like the EPL…
