Bob Spunkhouse.
Bob Monkhouse was a legend. We didn’t have enough of him on telly when he was around.
He was an avid video hoarder too- he had an extensive archive of tv shows that included lenny henry’s first tv appearance, which lenny had been told by itv was wiped and gone forever
He got his illustrated joke books stolen: I remember his being disconsolate.
He also wrote “erotic novelettes” – they too probably had giant penises in.
I saw him live. Honestly he was one of the bluest comedian I’ve ever seen. He was definitely the funniest. I went to see him ironically and ended up loving every minute of his show. Very different set of jokes from when on the TV.
