  2. The United States has formally approved the sale of F-35’s to Greece and F-16’s to Turkey.

    Context: Congressional approval isn’t technically needed to sell these fighter jets to a foreign country, simply the lack of disapproval of certain lawmakers (e.g. ranking member of either the Senate Foreign Relations or House Foreign Affairs committees). As long as those key lawmakers don’t voice disapproval, President Biden may proceed with the sales. Since those lawmakers have formally notified President Biden that they won’t disapprove, this sale is now approved.
