I came across this statistic a couple of days ago and it sparked a little debate in my mind. Now one thing to keep in mind is that I’m extremely biased towards Serie A but I find the premier league really boring with the ball bouncing from side of the pitch to the other with no real utilization of the kind of talents available there. On the other hand (and I’m being completely reasonable) Serie A is more fun to watch, games have much richer history and the league offers more competitiveness and unpredictability and the premier league’s only advantage over Serie A is star power.
So what do you guys think? Am I crazy?

  1. What is important is that this is kept consistent. At the moment, as much as it pains me to say, it looks more like a flash in the pan. If, however, Serie A is at the top for like 2 more years, then the conversation has more weight.

Then hopefully the FIGC will be able to build on this to market Serie A globally better without needing games to be played overseas. But FIGC being filled with schmucks who would get lost walking down a straight road, this is unlikely.
