    Canada is joining the United States in suspending funding for a UN agency that supports Palestinians, in response to allegations agency staff played a role in the Hamas attack on Israel last October.

    Ottawa has ordered a temporary pause on “any additional funding” for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

    The director for the agency known as UNWRA says it has terminated staff suspected of involvement in the Hamas attack, without sharing what role they may have played.

    Tragic. But given that we now know some of them were part of the Oct 7 attacks, how many more of these workers were directly participating in hostilities like the 12 that were just fired?

    Maybe the number is zero. Or maybe much higher.

  3. It is an irony that:
    1) The Us, Canada, UK, EU helped fund a separate UN organisation just for Palestinians
    2) That organisation (like many other aid organisations) has to either pay off or be a pawn of the militias in the countries they provide aid
    3) in this case, the UN agency seems to have been taken over by Hamas
    4) it took 7 October to happen before the donors took action
    5) 4 months later, the US and Canada finally act but the wasted aid money for how many years seems to have been mostly stolen, wasted, or supported terrorists
