Why are you posting this? This is just the indicative route from CMATS which was published in February 2020. The actual proposed alignment was supposed to be published in 2022, but has been pushed back several times due to local councillors wanting changes. There’s currently no date for publication.
After what’s happened with Bus Connects in Cork I think there’s little enough chance of this happening in the short to medium term. Unless it turns out that the NTA largely gave up on bus connects in favour of the tram, but there’s been no indication of that.
You guys have a “Docklands” too? That’s so cute.
It would be a nice start with those routes
Not that this is going to happen in the next 20 years, but it’s great that this proposal is going out past Ballincollig with the P&R.
I believe the full name for the proposed system is: Light And Next Gen Electric Rail
Bit of a mouthful but I’m sure they’ll come up with a catchy abbreviation.
If they had something going around clockwise as well it could be a solution to getting to places that aren’t city centre, and hopefully more opportunity for land to build it on than in town.
Ha, think we’ll all be dead before this is functional
