  1. the seller keeps insisting that we do it today even though the registration offices are closed and i can’t buy the car on my name directly from an official office. i don’t know the exact procedures and thats why i’m asking , is it risky to buy a car this way?

  2. last time i went to berlin we had to cancel the deal due to the registration office being closed at 13:00. it feels more safe and secure to do the transaction at an official office than a handwritten contract from the seller right? please tell me if i’m wrong

  3. if you get put under pressure its pretty sure a scam, especially if the deal is to good to be true.

and if the car has a deficit like a damage to the hull it reminds me about a documentary about stolen cars in germany i saw a while ago where they were selling a audi q7 with a medium dent in the hull.

it was a stolen car and the dent was their reason why it was so cheap, the buyer was put under pressure, got handed fake papers (on legit document paper which was once stolen in big amounts and now is circulating in the black Market) on the next workday he tried to register it, the chassie number was reported stolen and now he has no car and no money and if i remeber correctly, he did not have a insurance covering.

  4. I think if you don’t even know the procedure or speak german, Id advise you buy from a dealer. Yes, it is more expensive but at least the chance of being scammed is way lower and you get a warranty.

I say this because I was on the same boat a couple of months ago
