Bear in mind that less than 1% of unrwa staff are implicated in this, and unrwa is the lifeline for 2,200,000 people in Gaza. Pausing funding over a small number of idiots when the ICJ has found it plausible that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide is crazy and inhumane.
And as always, this sub supports inhumanity and the hasbara trolls are out in force cherry picking evidence to turn you against an organisation Israel has never wanted to exist because it is a constant reminder of the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in 1948.

Ah, it seems the UK can enact a form of sanction when actors from another country engage in violence against civilians. Funny, i thought there was some unexplainable reason we couldn’t take action like that

This has absolutely nothing to do with Israel deliberating attacking an UNRWA shelter the other day. This also has absolutely nothing to do with the ICJ relying on UNRWA data to find Israel plausibly responsible for genocide. Nothing to see here, good subjects, move along.
Over 30,000 people work for the UNRWA. Many of these will be in minor positions like driving trucks or staffing wearhouses. After *12* of them were *accused* of being involved in the 7th October attack, Western nations have queued up to deprive the entire organisation of funding and aid. It’s like if 12 Tesco workers were accused of planning a crime together and the government responded by banning Tesco from operating altogether.
Meanwhile the Israeli government can spend weeks indiscriminately dropping bombs on civilians, killing tens of thousand and ethnically cleansing millions, and the West refuses to even consider reducing aid.
The double standard is clear, and it is very obvious this entire move is the West responding to the ICJ’s recent decision. *Rules based order* my arse.
