  1. Honestly we should be organising draw Muhammad days and things to oppose this. Whether it’s abortions or death threats to teachers religious people need reigning in.

  2. Tell me again why these people have so much power in this country, if they don’t like our tolerant western society they should go somewhere more restrictive and backward thinking

  3. I remember during the 2021 Batley and Spen by-election when Kim Leadbitter and the Tory candidate took great pains to avoid addressing this issue and I’ve still seen no politicians speaking on it. Proper cowardice from all.

  4. “This is how muslim societies are run, death threats against political and ideological opponents”

If Labour get in you could be prosecuted for speaking the truth, because of their ridiculous definition of Islamophobia.

  5. Are they only waiting for the Hour to take them by surprise? Yet some of its signs have already come. Once it actually befalls them, will it not be too late to be mindful?

    Quran 47:18

  6. I can’t read the whole article but does it mention any arrests made for those giving the death threats? I know what I think the answer is.

  7. I like to think we’re a liberal society but everyday this country makes me doubt that

  8. What I still struggle to understand is how selective Islamic outrage is, and how it seems to be closer to anti-West than anti-anti-Islam.

In Western China, to curb the perceived threat of Islamic fundamentalism, the CCP incarcerated an entire ethnic group, sending millions to re-education centres, state sponsored sterilisation, banned halal food, banned public prayer, banned headscarves, banned facial hair, banned the Quran and closed the mosques. And yet every Islamic country seemed to tacitly turn a blind eye and some (including Pakistan and Palestine) praised their actions at the UN.

One can’t help but get the sense that a lot of the religious outrage is really just a cover for outrage against Western hegemony.

  9. How is this possible with The Peaceful Religion™ ?

For the record I’m an atheist so have no love for any religion, but really dislike those whose threats result in people living in fear, like for example hardcore rightwing evangelical Christians.

From an atheist perspective, I see it like a Star Wars or Star Trek fan forcing someone to live in hiding because they showed a cartoon the fan didn’t like. If this happened I wouldn’t be surprised if the fan ended-up in a secure unit beause they’re clearly disturbed individuals, with religion they are allowed to freely roam the streets. Why use Star Wars and Star Trek? Because they’re both works of fiction with somewhat obsessive fans.

  10. The “Paradox of Tolerance” crowd sure are silent on this one…

  11. I would simply not go out of my way to cause the maximum possible offence

  12. Islam is not compatible with European society and we should not tolerate it in our communities.
