I just don’t understand how funding has continued since Oct 7. They were holding hostages, openly celebrating the massacre, teaching kids how to be martyrs and hate Jews, among a long list of terrorist activities. The fact that they are being funded by anyone and not in prison is beyond me.

The UN claims there are 5.6 million Palestinian refugees. According to the international definition, refugee status is only applied to the first generation of refugees. However, the UN makes an exception for one group: the Palestinians. Descendants of Palestinian refugees are given the same status as their ancestors. That is why the number of so-called Palestinian refugees rose from 710,000 in 1950 to over 5.6 million today.
The Palestinians are the only refugee group that has a special UN agency that deals exclusively with them: UNRWA. This organization is the largest of all UN institutions and employs no fewer than 29,000 people. In addition to contributions from individual countries, the EU and the US each provide approximately 200 million euros every year. Western money has been pumped into the Palestinian refugee problem for more than half a century, without any prospect of a solution. Last year the budget of the UNRWA was almost 1.4 billion Euro.
The UNRWA only exists for the problem it was created for. And with such a budget there is no reason to solve the problem.
Unreal that it took so long for funding to be pulled.

Good. About time! Why does unrwa need to exists when so many other countries face far worse. This was always about emphasis against jews and Israel. It was never a Palestinian relief cause taking priority. Just open a school book they hand out.
