21 soldiers killed in the deadliest single attack on Israeli forces since start of war • FRANCE 24

It’s going to be a very very difficult day I can tell you here in Israel because this is the heaviest or largest number of casualties in one day uh and we’re hearing that essentially there were um you know over the death tolls 21 from this incident over 20 soldiers that

Were preparing uh to demolish uh a series of buildings uh and they were fired upon the explosives that they had laid ignited and the building essentially collapsed Ed on uh the soldiers uh and that is uh 21 and all of them were reservists uh who had come you know back

To duty to fight this war um you know this incident is very similar to an incident or it has parallels with an incident that happened a few weeks ago uh when soldiers were also uh laying explosives to uh blow up a tunnel uh and they were weren’t fired upon but there

Was uh a miscalculation they thought there was uh perhaps a Hamas militant in the area and they fired their own uh weapons and it and and it hit something that ex that ignited of the uh explosives so this is another incident just goes to show you how dangerous this

War is not only fighting uh Urban combat like this with various tunnels but the aim of destroying and dismantling M’s military infrastructure includes laying down explosives you know likely every single day and this incident turning out uh to be very deadly

The Israeli army said Tuesday that 21 soldiers were killed in the Gaza Strip. “This is the largest number of casualties in one day,” ABC News Correspondent Jordana Miller told FRANCE 24, adding that “it’s going to be a very long and difficult day” in Israel.

  9. How does anyone go to save 100 plus hostage then end up with more casualties than the hostages held when they can just negotiate to have their hostages released?
    This doesn't make sense to me at all

  14. 1. You don’t have all your team in a building that your setting demolition charges.
    2. You don’t allow conscripts to set dems.
    This was clearly an error when setting dems and the Israeli government has blamed it on Hamas!

  22. The war got this extreme , because , the IDF choose to be that way . Hamas expected the fight to come to them , that’s why they retreated after the October attack . They knew that fighting on IDF terms was madness . So , they decided to prepared themselves and lure them to fight within Gaza , where they could limit IDF movements . Clever , but , still very destructive .
