  9. I’m thankful for La Liga. Xavi did what he could and the odds were stacked against him. He is the coach we needed at the time but the role outgrew him. Onwards and upwards

  10. I can’t see this working. There’s going to be too much uncertainty and he won’t have the credibility to lead the players. My guess is he will be gone in the next couple of weeks once they find a replacement. I really like him as a person but it hasn’t worked out. He won a title in difficult circumstances so he can take some pride in that.

  11. Huge respect, and it shows he really cares about the club. This will give us at least 5-6 months to start scouting for a new manager, rather than another mid-season sacking. All the best.

  12. Bitter sweet, but a needed change(I wanted him to go). With the way he was speaking I knew that it was agreed that he will leave. He mentioned developing the younger players and giving everyone playing time numerous times.

  13. I feel bad for him, at the start of the season everyone was excited but man this season has been so bad. He got dealt a shitty situation and won a league title hope he improves in a less stressful job.

Is Michel interested? (if Girona aren’t allowed to play in UCL next season) Rafa marquez from the B team, perhaps even Thiago motta?

    Xavi is completely limited and the team he was supposed to build up on from last season with solid defence and a DM was completely derailed and destroyed due to circumstances.

  30. and once again, we continue with the habit of sacking a coach without fixing the internal problems of the club.

    We got a club legend to be our manager, on relatively low wages, unable to get the players he wants due to the club’s financial problems and the players he does have can’t stay healthy. Coach who has to field 3 reserve players on the pitch who are all under the age of 18.

    Somehow the blame is on him for his inability to enforce his style of football, despite him actually winning 2 titles last season.

    This club will never move forward if we keep sacking coaches without resolving its own problems.

  36. November 24, 2021. He made is managerial debut with us on the night of my Birthday and I won’t ever forget that I left everything to watch him.

    How can one forget the siege Laporta and team laid in the middle east to get him to agree for this job.

    He won us La Liga without a proper RB, Injured Pedri and so much more BS! The team sucks overall and I hate the fact he’s being made the scapegoat!

    Back to a Koeman type era with Cross and Bismillah haramball.

  37. hope you guys are happy, i did not want this to happen, i will always love xavi, his time as manager will be looked at as bittersweet, but for me he will always be the greatest midfielder in history and a genius.

  41. Real Madrid fan coming here in peace, Xavis status as a legend is untouched. Fact that he won a league title during one of the most tumultuous eras in Barcas history is no easy feat. Hopefully this will light a fire for the players to stop thinking about winning matches and just start competing again. Running for each other. Closing the gaps. Keeping up the intensity. I was pro Xavi for almost the whole of this Season so far, only in January did I realize that despite being one of the better coaches we had, he sticks way too much to the 4-3-3 and Barcelona DNA without looking at his players and coming up with something based on his team. Xavi is sadly one of the many managers who manage their team based on an ideology that they want to stick to regardless of results and genetal image, instead of building Tactics based on his players’ strength.

  43. I feel sad. I think there was a lot lacking between tactics and match preparation but I was never Xavi out, rather Xavi needs to figure it out.
